Keel and Curley is a great winery located just outside of Tampa, in Thonotosassa, Florida. Actually, the label says Plant City, but its Thonotosassa. Its the boonies of Plant City. We didn't have the opportunity to stop at the winery, but we drove past it and it's beautiful. Definitely on our list for next time we are near Tampa. I did, however, make sure to try every bottle I could find at Publix.
Now, I wasn't expecting to find much good wine in Florida to be quite honest. But I was pleasantly surprised by this place. They use fairly local fruits, such as key limes and tangerines. Key Lime Wine sounds weird, right? That's what I thought too. It took me nearly all week to get the courage to try it. It's actually not too bad! Its very lightly sweet and tangy from the limes. The lime flavor isn't overpowering, but it isn't something that I could drink regularly. Definitely something to try if given the chance though!
Strawberries are also local to the area and they had a wonderful Strawberry Riesling. It wasn't too sweet and you could tell they used actual strawberries and not a concentrate or flavoring.

Peach Chardonnay is the first wine I tried there. It was so good that I had to try all the rest! It was a nice chardonnay that had a light peach flavor.
Tangerine Tango Zinfandel was awesome! Light, zippy, and tangerine-y. If I ever drive there, there's a good chance that I will be bringing back a case.
Other wines that I tried from this winery that should be mentioned are:
- Sweet Blueberry Wine
- Black Raspberry Wine
I haven't yet met a wine from this winery I didn't like. Overall price point is good too, at around $15-20 per bottle.
